Celebrations of July
The biggest thing to me to celebrate is that we are always growing. July has been full of lake days and field trips and also business classes and books and training.
Just around the corner is the documentary dinner!!! August 8th at 6pm, here at The City Farm Empowered.

Farm and Garden
A lot of our focus has been preparing the farm to be picture perfect for the documentary. I have spent a lot of time manicuring the yard, painting, building and more.
We butchered our first bunny. It was hard...and humbling...and beautiful. The mama also had another litter. We got our black soldier fly larva and our home made bin is working! It is so cool!
We are trying to keep the animals cool and the plants watered. It is a beautiful time to be in the garden.
Are you longing for the farm and feeling stuck in the city? We want to hold your hand. Book your urban farm retreat now.

Grow the city farm with us
These are some properties currently for SALE in our 17 blocks
I hope to see this neighborhood grow into a landing spot for people who want the farm life but for some reason aren't moving out of the city. There could be a million reasons, but no matter what the reason we are building a community here were there are hands to hold, people to ask questions to, neighbors know each other and knock on each others doors. A place where we have meals together as a community. We celebrate together. We grow food and raise animals together, in the city!

Last Months Book Reviews
Really Very Crunchy-Emily Morrow

Loved this book! Emily did such a good job encouraging us to do better while not being paranode beating ourselves up or judging others. Her book was so insightful! So encouraging and fun! I highly recommend it!

The Heart is the Strongest Muscle

This book was so inspiring. It was such a good mindset book. If you want anything in life you have to have discipline but you also have to listen to your body. I think Tia was so confident and bold and also so humble. It was so inspiring to hear about someone so determined to reach their goals but not at the expense of helping others reach their goals as well.

Launching the Postmodern Well
I shared on social media this month that the building we we looking at for the Postmodern Well sold. I am still processing. More than anything though I think it has just given me a different perspective. We don't have a building but we are still doing the work. Anyone who did support the Postmodern Well through the GoFundMe, the money was used to start the non-profit. We are keeping our hands open and a positive mindset for what this will look like even though it wasn't what we originally thought. I still believe in my heart that it isn't the end of the story with that building.
